WeChat

WeChat is a cross-platform chat application, which means that you can use it to chat with people, regardless if you are on a PC or Mac and they use mobile devices. It comes with a good selection of useful features, to help you find your friends faster, exchange files and more. The best part is that WeChat is very comfortable, regardless of what platform you choose to use it on.

The application is available for Windows and Mac and for Android, iOS and Windows smartphones. The PC version comes in a small package and it can be installed in no time. You will need to get the mobile app first, after which you will have to create an account and verify it through a SMS-received code.

When you run the desktop application for the first time, its user interface will only display a QR code, which you have to scan with your phone. Once you scan the code and confirm the login on your phone, the desktop application will reveal a large interface, with your contacts list, created groups and other elements. A particular advantage here is the fact that you need to scan the QR code only once.

You can chat in WeChat just like in other chat applications. All you have to do is select a contact from your contacts list, on the left side of the window and type your text messages in the larger area on the right. You can also add emoticons and exchange files with your contacts. What's more, the application lets you exchange files with yourself, if you wish to transfer pictures or other data between your phone and your computer.
